Bring Max Wilson Home - Adoption.com Forums

I have seen this side of the cases, and when the State decides to go after a family they can and do. It's amazing how many laws can be broken because there is so little oversight. I can completely believe that this happened, because the State just has to prove that the parents are not OK to TPR; placement is at their discretion. All of us have horror stories of children being moved when they shouldn't, or not moved when they should. My own family members had to stay in foster care when I could have taken them as a licensed foster parent, simply because the agency didn't want to move them. They nicely ignored that I tried to get placement BEFORE they went into foster care, and it all could have been prevented. Instead they stayed in fostercare for 6 months before being moved to a out-of-state relative that let the Mom move in with her so they could close the case. They screwed up royally, but it was the kids who paid for it.

However, I think it is also very true that we don't have the whole story. There is always a LOT we don't know. If even half of it is true, this was just wrong. We all know of too many stories that are just wrong.

The system is broken. That's all there is to it.
